On Hiatus

I'll be taking a break from this blog for awhile to focus on the new love of my life.

Greyson Alden Perry
was born December 1st, 2008
at 11:57am by emergency c-section

I developed Placenta Previa and spent 11 days in the hospital trying to postpone his birth. We were hoping to hold out until he was at least 32 weeks, but it just didn't work out that way. He was 10 weeks early, but so far he is doing great.

Greyson's arrival was a bit startling to all of us, but we are so grateful he his here and doing as well as he is. Amazingly he was 3lbs 4oz when he was born and is already almost back up to his birth weight. Even though 3lbs seems tiny in the NICU he is quite the hoss.

He is handleing his feeds well and I'm looking forward to the day when his feeding tube comes out and he can start breastfeeding - but first he has to master breathing. They moved him on the ventialtor yesterday, but he still gets assistance from a CPAP, which is similar to what people with sleep apnea wear. I'm looking forward to the day when his lungs are strong enough that he won't even need that.
